A ‘Clootie’ is a traditional Scottish dumpling made by boiling the mixture in a cloth or “cloot”. The Gillies family has created a modern version of the Clootie for Mey Selections, which is suitable for vegetarians. Clootie is a great snack indoors or when taking exercise outdoors. It can be enjoyed hot or cold but when you want a real treat serve it as dessert with cream, custard or ice-cream.

Su and Ruari Gillies make a range of products for Mey Selections in the traditional way in their small family business based in Dingwall near Inverness in the North Highlands of Scotland.

Almost all their products are made solely from fruits and vegetables grown in the North Highlands. All are hand prepared and made in small batches to guarantee maximum flavour and quality, and are free from artificial additives,flavouring and preservatives.

CLOOTIE INGREDIENTS:- Mixed dried fruit (52%)[raisins, sultanas, currants, citrus peel], wheat flour, partially inverted refiners syrup, sunflower oil, pasteurised eggs, molasses, spices, raising agent (bicarbonate of soda), salt.
